Dežru Spec-S Coilovers – 2002–2006 Mini Cooper (R50 / R53)

The Dežru Spec-S coilover system is engineered specifically for the 2002–2006 Mini Cooper platform, including both R50 and R53 chassis. These early Minis feature a very light curb weight, short wheelbase, and high roll sensitivity, making proper spring selection and damper control critical. The Spec-S modernizes the chassis with significantly improved stability, sharper response, and better overall composure while preserving the Mini’s engaging personality.

Designed for drivers who daily their Mini but still enjoy spirited street driving, canyon roads, autocross, and occasional HPDE track days, the Spec-S utilizes digressive piston valving to provide strong low-speed support during braking, turn-in, and transitions, while remaining compliant over bumps and uneven pavement. Rather than chasing excessive stiffness, this setup targets a balanced ride frequency in the ~2.0–2.3 Hz range, delivering meaningful performance gains without making the car harsh or unpredictable.

Fixed-length damper bodies paired with a 25–35 mm adjustable lowered ride height maintain proper suspension stroke and geometry. This preserves usable bump travel and predictable roll behavior, allowing the Mini to remain stable and confidence-inspiring even when driven aggressively.

The above express warranties are made for a period of the lesser of 12,000 miles or 36 months from the date the product is installed in your vehicle. Any improper use, operation beyond capacity, substitution or addition of parts not approved by Dežru Suspension in writing, any alteration or repair by others, or any removal, defacing or altering of the identification shall void this warranty. There is no warranty on high-performance or race related parts due to the nature of usage.
