Dežru Spec-RS Coilovers – Dodge Charger V8 RWD
The Dežru Spec-RS was engineered specifically for the 2011–2023 Dodge Charger V8 rear-wheel-drive platform. While the Charger is capable of remarkable performance from the factory, its size and weight naturally produce body roll, brake dive, and slower transient response when driven aggressively.
The Spec-RS addresses those characteristics through carefully developed digressive piston valving, significantly increasing low-speed damping to better support the chassis during braking, corner entry, and acceleration while remaining compliant over rough pavement. Rather than simply making the suspension stiffer, the Spec-RS makes the entire car feel more responsive, more predictable, and substantially more connected to the driver.
Ride height is independently adjustable through fixed-length damper bodies, allowing a 30–50 mm lowered ride height while maintaining proper suspension travel and preserving bump stroke. Unlike systems that simply shorten the available suspension movement, the Spec-RS retains the stroke needed for real-world performance.
Why Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks?
The rear dampers utilize external remote reservoirs to substantially increase oil volume while separating the nitrogen chamber from the main shock body. More oil means improved heat management, more consistent damping during spirited driving, and reduced fade after repeated hard cornering.
The additional fluid capacity also allows finer piston tuning, giving the rear suspension excellent composure over rough pavement while maintaining superior control during rapid weight transfer. 600 lb/in front / 550 lb/in rear HyperCo linear springs were selected specifically for the Charger's weight distribution. The heavier front spring better supports the V8 engine during braking and corner entry, reducing dive while improving steering response. The slightly softer rear spring allows the independent rear suspension to maintain mechanical grip under power, helping the car rotate naturally without becoming nervous or overly stiff on imperfect roads. The result is a suspension that feels significantly more athletic while remaining comfortable enough for everyday use.
