Dežru Suspension Coilovers
Dežru Suspension is built around one simple belief: a shock is only as good as the components inside it. That sounds obvious, but it is exactly where many “good on paper” coilovers fall apart. When a product is designed to hit a target price point first, every internal decision becomes a compromise. Material choice gets downgraded. Heat treatment gets softened. Coatings get skipped. Oil quality gets treated like an afterthought. Valving becomes generic so the same cartridge can be used across as many applications as possible.
Dežru does the opposite. We prioritize the highest quality core parts we can source or manufacture, then we build each damper around the chassis it’s going on and the spring rate it is intended to run. It costs more to do correctly, but the end result is a coilover that behaves like a cohesive system, not a universal product that merely fits.
The Foundation: Bilstein-Based Dampers with Real Materials
At the center of every Dežru coilover is a Bilstein-based monotube damper architecture. This layout was chosen for its consistency, thermal stability, and ability to maintain control under repeated high-load events. Monotube dampers manage heat far more effectively than typical twin-tube designs because the working piston operates directly against the damper body, allowing heat to exit the oil quickly and evenly.
This matters not just on track, but in real driving conditions where shocks see repeated cycles, sharp impacts, and long durations of heat buildup.
52mm Threaded Bodies, Manufactured In-House
Dežru shock bodies are 52mm threaded units manufactured in-house from 42CrMo4 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. This material is widely used in high-stress applications where fatigue resistance, toughness, and long-term durability are critical. The threaded body is not just an adjustment feature, it is a structural component that must withstand constant spring load, road impacts, debris, and environmental exposure.
Hard Nickel Plating for Durability
After machining, each body receives a hard nickel plating rated between 55 and 65 HRC. This coating dramatically improves wear resistance and corrosion protection. Coilover threads live in a hostile environment filled with grit, moisture, and road salt. A soft or cosmetic coating may look acceptable at install, but it degrades quickly in real use.
Hard nickel plating keeps threads usable and adjustable years later, not just during the first season.
Internal Valving: Controlled, Digressive Damping
High-quality materials alone do not guarantee good ride quality or control. The piston design, shim stack, and oil must work together as a complete system. Dežru focuses on real-world behavior: brake dive, turn-in response, mid-corner stability, impact absorption, and consistency over long sessions.
Bilstein COB Digressive Piston
Dežru coilovers use a Bilstein COB digressive piston. Digressive valving delivers strong low-speed control for chassis motions drivers actually feel, such as pitch, roll, and squat, while remaining more forgiving at higher shaft speeds encountered over bumps, curbing, and broken pavement.
The result is a damper that feels stable and confident without becoming harsh or unpredictable when conditions deteriorate.
Stainless Steel Shim Stack
Damping behavior is further refined through a stainless steel shim stack. Stainless shims provide corrosion resistance and consistent flex characteristics, helping ensure repeatable damping performance across temperature ranges and long-term use. Small variations in shim behavior can translate into major changes in feel, especially when the shock is hot.
Amsoil Shock Therapy Oil
Oil is a functional component, not a commodity. Dežru uses Amsoil Shock Therapy oil because of its resistance to foaming, excellent thermal stability, and consistent viscosity under extreme conditions. Inferior oils aerate and thin under heat, causing damping to become inconsistent and unpredictable.
Stable oil means stable damping, lap after lap and mile after mile.
Built to Be Rebuilt
Performance suspension is not disposable. Dampers are wear items by nature, especially when driven hard. Dežru coilovers are designed for long-term ownership, not short-term replacement cycles.
All Dežru shocks are fully rebuildable. Owners who are comfortable servicing their own equipment can perform DIY rebuilds, while customers who prefer a turnkey solution can send their dampers back to Dežru for in-house rebuild service at a reasonable cost.
This approach protects your investment and ensures your suspension can continue performing at its intended level for years.
Springs: Hyperco Chrome Silicon, Made in the USA
The spring is half of the suspension system. If the spring is inconsistent, improperly rated, or prone to sag, even the best damper cannot compensate.
Dežru uses cold wound, high tensile chrome silicon springs from Hyperco, manufactured in the United States. Chrome silicon alloys offer exceptional fatigue resistance and rate stability, while Hyperco’s tight manufacturing tolerances ensure consistent spring rates corner to corner.
This consistency is critical for predictable handling, accurate corner balancing, and long-term ride height stability.
Chassis-Specific Tuning, Not Mass Production
Many coilover systems are designed around a universal internal package, then adapted to fit as many vehicles as possible. The goal is efficiency and pricing, not precision. Spring rates and valving are often chosen to be “acceptable” across a wide range of platforms.
Dežru takes a fundamentally different approach. Each system is built for a specific chassis and a specific spring rate. Valving is matched to that spring rate so the damper operates within its ideal working range.
As a reference point, Dežru systems are designed around a controlled force range with approximately 350 lbs of usable range at the 20 in/sec shaft speed mark. This provides meaningful high-speed control without creating harsh, brittle ride characteristics.
The result is a suspension system that remains composed over real roads while maintaining confidence and stability when driven aggressively.
Why We Refuse to Cut Corners
Cost reduction is easy. You simplify internals, reuse generic components, downgrade materials, choose cheaper oils, and eliminate rebuild support. Each compromise may seem small on its own, but together they define the ceiling of the product.
Dežru refuses to penny-pinch because a shock is a system. The weakest component sets the limit. Prioritizing quality materials, proper valving, and serviceability is the only way to deliver consistent performance over time.
This philosophy means Dežru coilovers are not built to be the cheapest option. They are built to be correct.
What This Means for You
- Durable, corrosion-resistant threaded bodies that remain adjustable long-term
- Consistent, digressive damping that balances control and compliance
- Fully rebuildable dampers for long-term ownership
- High-quality Hyperco springs with accurate, repeatable rates
- True chassis-specific tuning rather than one-size-fits-all solutions
Built Like It Matters
Dežru Suspension coilovers are engineered for drivers who understand the difference between stiffness and control, between fitment and function. They are built for those who value consistency, serviceability, and component quality over marketing shortcuts.
If you want a mass-produced coilover designed around a target price, there are plenty of options. If you want a system engineered around your chassis, your spring rate, and a philosophy that prioritizes what actually makes a damper perform, Dežru Suspension delivers exactly that.
